REGISTRATION POLICIES

Please refer to the tab 'COVID-19' in the main menu above regarding procedures and facility protocols.

Classes are subject to change during the first two weeks of the school year depending on the number of applicants
-
Any class with insufficient registration may be canceled and an alternative will be given during the first two weeks of the school year
-
Class times may alter during the first two weeks of the school year
TERM FEES & POLICIES
-
All fees are non-refundable
-
Refunds will not be given for missed classes (Classes missed may be made up by attending any other suitable class if requested)
-
Students with unpaid term fees and/or costume fees will not receive their costumes nor will they be permitted in the year end recital until all fees are paid in full

Cheques are not accepted. All payments must be made via PayPal, e-transfer, or cash

If a student drops out part way through the dance year, as stated above, all fees are non-refundable

2020 - 2021 TERMS:
1st TERM: SEPTEMBER - NOVEMBER
Fees due at registration (on the 1st day of classes)
2nd TERM: DECEMBER - FEBRUARY
Fees due by December 1st 2020
3rd TERM: MARCH - MAY
Fees due by March 1st 2021

Registration fee is $23.00
Fee due once per year/per student
Max charge per family 2 x $23
TERM FEES (hst included):
1 Class per week/per term $210.00
2 Classes per week/per term $400.00
3 Classes per week/per term $580.00
4 Classes per week/per term $750.00
5 Classes per week/per term $920.00
all fees are non-refundable.
COVID CREDITS ARE NON-TRANSFERABLE.
IN-STUDIO POLICIES

Dancers only (unless told otherwise) are permitted in the studio

Cell phone usage is prohibited during class time (for emergency use only)

Chewing gum is strictly prohibited

Students who bring water must have a resealable bottle
-
Proper dance wear (both clothing and shoes) is required at all times to avoid injury (see below)
-
No jewelry is to be worn during class time (studded earrings are acceptable)
-
Hair must be worn neatly off the face (i.e. bun, braid, ponytail, etc.)
-
It is recommended that parents and guardians mark all items of clothing, footwear, etc. with students name
-
Barbara Ashley School of Dance is not responsible for lost or stolen items
ALLERGY ALERT

No nuts, peanuts or peanut products
-
No fish
-
Please notify us if a student or child has any airborne allergies
CLASS CANCELATION POLICIES
-
If classes are canceled due to conditions beyond our control (power outages, snow storms, etc.) after one missed class you will be contacted by the office to schedule a make-up class

YEAR END RECITAL POLICIES

Students must attend all rehearsals & shows at the Arts & Culture Centre
-
It is important that all students/parents notify their teacher if they are planning on missing a rehearsal due to prior commitments

DRESS CODE POLICIES
-
PRE BALLET: Students are required to wear a body suit, pink or white tights and pink ballet slippers with their hair in a pony tail or bun out of their face. Ballet skirts & tutu's are welcome but are not required.

BALLET: Students are required to wear a body suit, pink, white or beige tights and pink ballet slippers with their hair in a bun or pony tail out of their face. Ballet tuts's, skirts, and spandex shorts are also welcome but not required.

POINTE: Students are required to wear a body suit, pink, white or beige tights and pink pointe shoes with their hair in a bun or pony tail out of their face. Ballet tuts's, skirts, and spandex shorts are also welcome but not required.

TAP & IRISH STEP: Students are required to wear a body suit or fitted top with spandex shorts, leggings or pants that do not interfere with their feet. Students are required to wear black tap shoes with their hair in a pony tail or bun out of their face.

MODERN: Students are required to wear a body suit or fitted top with spandex shorts, leggings or tights. Students are required to wear beige jazz/modern shoes with their hair in a pony tail or bun out of their face.

HIP-HOP: Students are required to wear a t-shirt or tank top with sweat pants or leggings and indoor sneakers or black jazz shoes.

JAZZ & JAZNASTICS: Students are required to wear a body suit or fitted top with spandex shorts, leggings or tights. Students are required to wear black jazz shoes with their hair in a pony tail or bun out of their face.

BROADWAY JAZZ: Students are required to wear a body suit, pink, white or beige tights and beige character shoes with their hair in a bun or pony tail out of their face. Spandex shorts and leggings are welcome but not required.

COMPETITION: Students are required to wear their black competition bodysuit, black competition leggings, and studio competition jacket with their hair in a bun or pony tail out of their face.
